We are a brand that is committed to sustainability and minimising our harm to the earth we live on.
Humans are producing over 380 million tons of plastic each year, with an estimated 50% of that being single use*. The e-commerce industry is not responsible for all of this, but it plays a huge role.
Being a kind human means being kind to the earth also. And while researching and implementing more sustainable methods across the business is expensive, nothing is more valuable than our home.

SUSTAINABILITY WITHIN THE BRAND

Stae is committed to running and operating in a way that is kind & respectful to our environment. We will be constantly learning, evolving and seeking new ways to minimise our carbon footprint, and leave behind a clean earth.

We are not perfect, yet. We are focused on learning, we have room to improve, and are still looking for the perfect solutions, these are some of the ways we are optimising sustainability to start:

compostable packaging

From our beginning, it was important for us to source compostable garment bags, mailing bags & postage labels too!

These will break down in your home compost system, or fill with food scraps & dispose of in your green vegetation bin.

STORAGE: Our soft "plastic" packaging will break down in around 12 months, so if you have purchased for a gift, or to save for later, we recommend removing the garment from it's bag, and storing in a safe place.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

It is estimated that the equivalent of one garbage truck of clothing is dumped in landfill or incinerated every second. This is devastating for the environment.

Ordering small quantities is an expensive way for a clothing company to run but it is much better for the environment. Therefore, we will not be creating endless poorly made collections, producing high volumes cheap, then discounting by 70-80% to flog what is unwanted.

Each item goes through a vigorous design, testing & production cycle - this takes time but it is important in creating products that are good enough quality to last.
